I recently made a halberd out of some left over 3/4" PVC for my brother to hit my sister with. It was pretty fun and I wanted to make a bow out of CPVC and nylon string. It looks extremely simple but works great. My only problem is making arrows. I made one out of CPVC and a firework head (cosmetics). It was WAY to heavy to go very far or accurately, any ideas how to make any arrows? I was thinking of balsa wood but it would need to be weighted down unless I make a HUGE arrow. If you need pictures just say so.

Use styrofoam rods coated in hairspray, with a marble for weight.

Alright, sounds good but where do I find the rods at? I plan on making wooden dowels into arrows (obviously not for nerf wars) and sharpen them so I can maybe kill a rabbit or 2 in my back yard, stupid things make a mess. Think I could post a write-up about this or is it not nerf-related?

Alright, I finished the bow and made some arrows, it works great but isn't for Nerf Wars (pierces drywall at 40 feet all the way through). I was playing with my BBB and thought it would be cool to make a homemade out of it. I would basically put a plunger made out of PVC ( is that possible) then get a plunger head and attach it to the string. When I pull the string back and release it, it would snap the plunger head foward and force air through the PVC and out into the dart. My problem is, making the plunger and plunger head system. Any ideas what to make out it out of if PVC wouldn't work?

Oh, yeah, just make a really long SNAP plunger with the rod attached to the string. It SHOULD work.

Which SNAP version should I use? Or are all the plungers the same?
