Disscuss.

I consider myself to be very much a gamer, and a Nintendo fanboy. I have a Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Game Boy Advance (and Pocket, too), Nintendo DS (Original/Phat), and a Wii. I also PC game a little. I got the Star Wars Best of PC (Best. Deal. Ever.) and play the Halo PC demo (even better deal: free).

I like pretty much all types of games. Of course there's the Zelda and Mario series (although I never liked the Mario games that much). I enjoy FPSes (Star Wars Battlefront 1, Halo PC, Timesplitters Future Perfect). I like the occasional handheld RPG (Golden Sun rocks!). The only sports games I like are NHL Hitz and Wii Sports. I like Advance Wars (a turn-based strategy handheld game). I also like some games that defy classification: Trauma Center and Boktai, to name two.

So, yeah...I'm a gamer. Unfortunately, I don't like to bring my systems to college and so I haven't played my Wii in wiiks (couldn't resist). Fortunately, I have Battlefront and Halo to get me through withdrawal.

Edit
I almost forgot to ask: So, what do you play, Mega?

Edit 2
How could I forget Super Smash Bros. ?!?!

What do I play I like to play? heh I like Megaman...In fact.....I probably could best be described as one of those infamous "Megaman freaks".   I also like sports game mainly 2k sports games, I also dig strategy games like Age of Empires and Stronghold.

As for consoles:
I have a GBA SP, PC, PS2 and a Wii.

I have over 60 PS2 games.....

I used to have original NES with 30+ games but my Mom threw it out.

I recently picked up Need for Speed: Carbon...Its absolutely sweet! But since I got my Wii I started buying Gamecube games....Right now I'm playing Zelda: Wind Waker.

I'm also heavily into older DOS classics Like Duke Nukem and Commander Keen....

I also like some games that defy classification: Trauma Center

Whats that game like anyway? It looked rather odd.

Trauma Center is awesome, but I don't really know how to describe it...

I guess you could almost picture it as a puzzle game. Yes...each surgery is like a board that you need to clear. Accomplish the required tasks in the right order quickly and without making too many mistakes, and and you clear the puzzle/surgery.

Don't let the whole puzzle thing discourage you though (if you don't like puzzle games). Actually, I never even thought of it that way until just now. If you have the chance, I'd definitely suggest getting Under the Knife (for DS) or Second Opinion (Wii). They're basically the same game, but the interfaces are totally different. I definitely like the Wii's tool selection and it has better gesture rcognition, but the DS's touch screen feels so good.

heh I like Megaman

*smacks self upside the head*
I seriously did not even think about that.

If your looking for good Gamecube games (those in the know call it the GCN), I would suggest:

Super Smash Bros. Melee (cannot stress that enough)
Star Wars Rogue Leader Rogue Squadron II (not III, because it sucks)
Metroid Prime
Resident Evil 4
Ikaruga (if you can find it)
Viewtiful Joe
Custom Robo
Spartan Total Warrior
Call of Duty: Finest Hour
Robotech: Battlecry
Gotcha Force

Some of those are multi-platform so you might already have them but...there you go. I have tons more games, but I for some reason I just can't remember them (I had to look up a list of Gamecube online just to remember these). I need to do some serious GCN gaming over spring break...

And start building the FBBLR

Oh, and good luck on Wind Waker. You're going to need it if you're a completist. I got everything except the pictobox statues. There was no way I was going to get ~300 hundred statues 3 (or fewer) at a time.

I always Liked the Smash Brothers for N64. I'll have to buy that sometime....

Star Wars Rogue Leader Rogue Squadron II

My friend said that game is was the best game ever for N64.....Thanks for the list of suggestions I'll look some up.

Has anyone played the PS3 yet? My friend bought one, but I'm yet to try it.

I seriously did not even think about that.

I really hope that they make a continuation to the Megaman Legends series for the Wii....I tell Ya the Wii may have a lower spec, but I think it has by more potential for unique games.

Just look at The Rayman game....That game is crazy (but awesome).

I wish That thing could hold more pictures! By the way...What on earth do you give to that guy who wants that picture of that "pale round thing"?

Title: Re: Video Games!
Post by: jwasko on February 22, 2007, 12:48:45 pm

I tell Ya the Wii may have a lower spec, but I think it has by more potential for unique games.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Anyway, the "pale, round thing" is the moon. The guy that asks for that picture looks at the moon at night on some balcony.

Yes, the original Rogue Squadron was a great game and Rogue Leader builds on its greatness. The only not so good thing is that a lot of the missions are based on the movies.

My favorite missions are always those that don't take place in the movies. I played "Search for the Nonnah" and "Blockade on Chandrilla" were my favorites in the original, and "Razor Rendezvous" and "Vengeance on Kothlis" in Rogue Leader. The only really good movie level is "Battle of Endor" in Rogue Leader.

On the other hand, Rebel Strike (Rogue Squadron III) sucked. They ruined it with non-flight levels and even on-foot levels (the ones as Luke as a Jedi were the worst). Even the flight levels weren't as good. Actually, the only good thing about Rebel Strike is that you can play all of the Rogue Leader Levels in Co-op (but only co-op...so you have to buy Rogue Leader to play single player).

Curse you, Megaman! Now I'll be playing Rogue Squadron all weekend instead of studying for my Chemistry exam. Oh well...

Haha sorry. Speaking of Star wars games, ever play Star Wars episode III? The graphics are simply the best I've ever seen on a PS2. Thanks for that hint about the moon too!

My brother has that game. Thesingle playerand co-op kind of sucked, but the duels were pretty cool. I don't remember the graphics, but I suppose that they were alright.

Funny story:
My brother and my teenage (actually, he might have already been 20) cousin were dueling on that game. My cousin was playing as that girl Jedi with two lightsabers. One of my young cousins (only 4 or 5 years old) comes over and asks who is playing as who. When my cousin says he's playing as the girl, my little cousin says "You're pretty"

My older cousin just said "Thanks."

Yeah, I like it when there are semi-scripted actions dictated by button presses. Resident Evil 4 has lots of those. I think God of War does, too (I've never played it, but I've seen videos).

I don't care for the PSP its more of a i-pod than a gaming device(not to mention the low amount of good games for it)....DS is the way to go.

Mega let me take you on the wild side. Internet, All ps2 games, music, movies, photos, online game playing, the screen is plasma quality, and its got real games not like those stupid flash games on the internet.

How did you like the wild side.

I might get megaman x collection. I like megaman, but not that much. I only have X6.
Oh and does anyone else here like zelda, because I bought Ocarina of Time today and it is GOOD!

Title: Re: Video Games!
Post by: jwasko on March 22, 2007, 06:46:21 pm
I like Zelda

I've only ever finished Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, but I have this collection of Zelda games for GCN. It includes Zelda 1 and 2, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask. I started OoT and MM, but never got a chance to finish them.

Title: Re: Video Games!
Post by: Megamannt92 on March 23, 2007, 11:02:53 am
Ahh the original Zelda....I used to play that on my old NES. I never beat it, mainly because the game would never save for more than 5 minutes...if at all.

I have it for GBA now, still I always get stuck somewhere...That game is still incredible though.

Quote
I only have X6.

X6 is decent but X4 and X3 are by far the best. I really want to unlock the MM Battle and Chase game on it....Looks sweet.

My top ten favourite games:

                     10: Shadow of the Colossus
                      9: Simpsons Hit and Run
                      8: Resistance: Fall of Man
                      7: Halo
                      6: Dead Rising
                      5: Fable
                      4: Halo 2
                      3: Gears of War
                      2: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
                      1: Resident Evil 4

My dad just bought a PS3 so I rented Resistance: Fall of Man and many other games, PS3 is awesome when it comes to general gameplay and graphics. (I've also have an XBOX 360, but, who doesn't now?)

I remember playing that when I was like 5. I loved the Super Mario games on all of the older Nintendos. They're just so addictive and classic! I'd do anything to play it again now (Nintendo broke years ago! NOOOOOO!).

I've always been a pretty big Nintendo fanboy. In fact, if I count right, I've owned every single Nintendo system except the virtual boy.

I remember way back before I started school, I'd always wake up, have a glass of milk and cookies, then go play the heck out of some SMB3. Man that was fun stuff, Mario games were like crack to me and they remain my favorite games.

Right now I'm actually working on Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. I can't beat the last boss.

Super Mario 3 is still an amazing game, even by todays standards....Even after I've beaten it twice, I still play it sometimes.

Even though the NES is really dated, it still remains one of my favorite systems. Ahh simplicity and 8-bittyness.

Did get ahold of Wii yet Zach?

You're a bunch of dumb lemmings underground and they just walk back and forth until you order a lemming to do whatever it's specialty is. You have to get all of the lemmings out of the screen/map before time runs out.

Title: Re: Video Games!
Post by: Deaddumpster on June 26, 2007, 04:37:21 pm
Yeah, if they fall off a cliff or anything then they die, but if you're digging a hole and it falls in and you stop digging, it will pace back and forth in the tiny hole until you tell it to climb up. You need to get all lemmings(or if one dies, then the remaining ones) off the board, so if it get's stuck you can laugh at it until you get bored and get it to climb back up .

Title: Re: Video Games!

I'm not sure, actually (it's actually pretty entertaining to watch it pace back and forth without making any sort of attempt to escape).

Oooo! More lemmings, I'm going to try them out soon, but I'm tired and just got back from a private screening of the Transformers movie, so I think I'll just kick back and play games for a while.

How was that? Transformers was AWESOME, it's not all old cheesy either, it's seriously hardcore.

Die Hard was good.  Knee cap shooting and yippiekayyay stuff people shooting themself.  Hackers, all of the good stuff.  I know, thats why I want to see it.  And it was filmed out here (transformers) too.

Today I'm going to a "sneek peek" of the new Harry Potter movie. I didn't even know there was a new one coming out . I don't read Harry Potter but I saw the first movie and it seems pretty cool. Halo is still the best, though. I can't wait until Halo Wars comes out on PC; I have enough money to buy a 360 but my mom won't let me.

Yeah, I'm going to see it also. I can't wait for any new Halo games to come out, and the movie is supposed to come out in a while too.

They're really fun. Rent one if you're not sure you'll like it. Get number 2.

I think I'll do that sometime in the near future. But right now my top priority is to get a new computer so I can run Oblivion and all mods and expansions with a higher fps than this useless piece of junk I'm using.

I'm rebuilding my computer.
It will take a long time to save up the money,(1300$) but it will rule.

I just got a new one for my birthday in December, don't really know how strong it is compared to the ones you are talking about but it runs LOTRO on Ultra-High Graphics without lag. Also runs BF2 on high graphics with no lag. Came with a 17" screen too. :cheesy:

Why why why must Intel make new processors and why must N-Vidia and that other one come up with Pixel Shader 1 and 2!!?? Every freaking game I find either has pentium 4 and/or pixel shader 2. I'm still on a pentium 3 and no pixel shader with 0 hope in sight...but anyway my friend is graphics-deprived too and he says he thinks the best part of 2142 is the Titan. Anybody confirm that? Oh, and good to see you back DD!

I have 2 P3s(one GHZ1, and one 450mhz. The GHZ1 bearly runs half the time though) and a P4(its a Dell. I hate Dell!)....The P4 is of limits to my games though. shame, such raw processing power being used only for word processing. Such a waste....

I Just like to play DOS games anyway.....If I want to play new games....Well thats what my Wii and PS2 are for.

Your friend is right, Titan in BF2142 is AMAZING. It is completely different than capture the flag (in some ways) and adds a new element to gameplay. Just download the demo if it is still on the website and try it out yourself, its free online play but you only get 1 map, and 2 game types.

I actually don't need a lot of money because there's this computer shop in my area that builds their own computers that run at the same capacity as your average state-of-the-art Future Shop money-eater. The thing about these people is that they sell the computers at around $400-500. You can also get one custom built for you, but it's a few hundred more.

That's all fine but my mom won't let me get a console or a new anything for the computer ("It just eats money"), even though i have way more than enough of my own money. Oh and once I got a medal of honor game for only 10 bucks, but then I had to split the money for a new graphics card with my dad ($21). Then it turned out I needed a new processor and that just went too far for my mom. Ah, But the new card permitted me to play Guild Wars. Thats a good thing. Any of you played it?

EDIT: Oh man I would nerfingnoob but like I said it needs Pixel Shader 2 and Pentium 4.
