Title: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Deaddumpster on June 22, 2007, 09:22:05 pm My friends and I have been nerfing for a few years now, and we have some pretty good stories and tactics that have happened throughout wars. Like the time we were fighting at my friend's house, which happened to be on a hill. That made the front yard two stories, but as you head to the backyard, the hill slants upwards until there is only about one story between you and the roof. Anyway, we split ourselves into teams and we got the backyard. My friend is an excellent sharpshooter (army cadet) so he sat himself on top of the shed which is equal in height to the roof and about ten feet away from the house itself. In the midst of the battle, I sneaked onto the shed and noticed a thick wooden fence leading to the roof. Carefully, I balanced across the fence and on to the roof. I made my way to the very top and stood above the other team, who still didn't notice me. By the time two of them dropped they were too confused to realize that the shots had come from above! I'll post more after I hear a few of your own. Feel free to post some of your wackiest stories!
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: General Cole on June 22, 2007, 10:29:27 pm I was playing indoor with my modded DS (70 feet) and I had 3 guys holled up in a small roomIO was behind some cover, so what I did was set my DS on the couch back so they would think I was there. Then I went outside, pried up the window in the bathroom and jumped in very ninja like. Then I opened the door, unloaded my RF20, and threw an XL barricade buster (about 35 darts). It got all but one of them 1 hit kill, he was in the back, so I rolled, drew my NF and shot him in the bottom of the chin when I was below him. That is what I call eating a clan.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Deaddumpster on June 22, 2007, 10:47:40 pm Ate like a pizza! I remember this one time when my friend (who has pretty much never played Nerf before) and I were playing in my house. I was schooling him every round until he started to get used to the environment (it took him a surprising 3hrs) I hid behind a couch that seemed too close to the wall for anyone to hide behind. I knew he wouldn't know I was there because he wasn't the best strategist in the world. When he was about 10 feet away, I quickly but silently popped up from behind the couch and BAM! I don't know how, but in a split second he managed to pivot, dodging my dart as if he were in the Matrix, and shoot me square between the eyes with a single, completely un-aimed shot. Apparently what I taught him through the course of the day helped a lot. I later gave him a modded DS for his birthday, which he repeatedly shoots his brother with. I want to see stories from everyone! I will post another story later.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: General Cole on June 23, 2007, 09:28:58 am You can't request anything. Another time I was playing outside I was on a ladder, last guy left on my team. I jumped off the ladder firing my MS and got one guy before I hit the trampoline, when I hit I rolled, shaking my MS. My magazine fell off and I loaded another. I jumped up when I was still on the trampoline and shot the guy reight next to me with one of my Mavs. I jumped off the tramp and fired my last magazine, hitting another. I threw my MS (softly) and drew my DTG. He came around the corner fired one, I dodged and fired 5 rounds in quick succession. He dodged and fired another Big Salvo, it was shotgunned, but I dropped and fired again. When I tried to roll he shot me in the chest because he fired in front of me.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Deaddumpster on June 23, 2007, 09:48:24 am Nice... That same friend was playing with me not too long ago and he used an old (though rather large) pistol. After a few rounds killing each other I decided to look up that same handgun. It was an Electric Eel, which I knew wasn't very good, but a rare find nowadays!
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: General Cole on June 23, 2007, 12:18:10 pm EE can be awsome, don't diss the EE!
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: sourskittles772 on June 23, 2007, 12:40:43 pm One of my memories was at dcno. I didnt know which gun to use. I ended up just using a modded nightfinder. Doing pretty good getting some hits. And then I guy named shorty rushed me with his modded rf20. Dodged all the bullets while he was running down the hill. I slide down and shot him while sliding.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Deaddumpster on June 23, 2007, 12:50:36 pm Yeah, my friend has no darts, so I'm going to make him some stefans for the EE and maybe he'll get more batteries so it looks cooler when he shoots
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: sourskittles772 on June 23, 2007, 04:16:47 pm Batteries hah
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Deaddumpster on June 23, 2007, 06:11:33 pm Well, I guess the Firefly's little half step-cousin (2 times removed) deserves what it takes, batteries of a certain size and power!
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: General Cole on June 23, 2007, 09:34:39 pm The EE is much better minimized. Try it.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Deaddumpster on June 23, 2007, 10:00:18 pm Well, it's his so I'll have to get his permission to do anything to it.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: General Cole on June 24, 2007, 08:56:44 pm Yeah, thats always good.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Deaddumpster on June 25, 2007, 05:30:44 am It won't be easy, he now knows it's like an antique in NERF. If I mess up when I'm doing work he'll probably kill me.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: General Cole on June 25, 2007, 09:28:32 pm Just take your time and measure right.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Deaddumpster on June 26, 2007, 01:16:22 pm I haven't talked to him about it yet, but he'll probably say I can so I'll go by the instructions and take my time (I have lots of it now that school isn't giving us homework :afro:).
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: General Cole on June 26, 2007, 03:34:40 pm I think the instructions were lost, just look at it carefully.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Deaddumpster on June 26, 2007, 04:07:54 pm Oh, ok. Thanks man, I owe you one! It shouldn't be TOO hard, my friends and me were playing today and I decided to give him my Scout, we tried to mod it. We apparently messed up, but I'll be workin' on it tonight. Right now, I'm going to put a better spring in my NF :cheesy:!
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: General Cole on June 26, 2007, 04:09:11 pm Scouts are a pain to mod.
Which version? Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Deaddumpster on June 26, 2007, 04:13:50 pm Actually I'm not sure which version, I just remember buying it about a month ago and it breaking the next morning(I guess it was just stopping my plot of shooting my Dad to wake him up !
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: General Cole on June 26, 2007, 04:28:03 pm Was it redish, or blueish?
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Deaddumpster on June 26, 2007, 04:31:24 pm Oh, it's the reddish one. Red and grey to be exact.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: General Cole on June 26, 2007, 04:45:25 pm That is N-STRIKE it is simpler than the new one.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Deaddumpster on June 26, 2007, 04:59:50 pm Then I must be pretty dumb, but I'm going to work on it when I get a screwdriver that can fit in the holes.
PS. I started to play that new forum game, it's pretty fun! :afro: Oh, and PPS. Does anyone have any war stories to share? Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: General Cole on June 26, 2007, 05:25:03 pm Shot a guy in the nuts today with my new LS. Does that count?
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Deaddumpster on June 26, 2007, 05:37:44 pm Oh yeah! Nut shots are the best kind, actually I was playing earlier and my friend used his FF. It's unmodded but we were fighting in really close quarters (about 5 feet away from eachother), the only things between us was a wooden fence, the fence door and the porch railing because I was crouching on the front porch. When he fired, a tiny fraction of the dart hit the fence door which made the dart spin and bounce down on the railing, landing about three inches in front of me. So, laughing about the rather close call (it was fast and unexpected because we were in more of a standoff and it was a 2 on 1 battle), I noticed his fingers sticking through a gap between boards of wood. I fired at them with my modded NF, it hit his fingers and travelled until it came to an abrupt stop at his groin.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: General Cole on June 26, 2007, 05:41:08 pm I had something like that happen to me in airsoft.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Deaddumpster on June 26, 2007, 05:56:03 pm Lucky man, I have no Airsoft guns, I just have NERF weapons(though they don't hurt as much, which is good if they "accidentally" put their head in the way of the dart). But, at least my friend doesn't play with us, he complains about how we broke his glasses if we hit him lightly in the arm. I wouldn't want to see him take a headshot in airsoft or NERF (an Airsoft headshot would hurt catastrophically), he would probably try to kill us (he's also a black belt in martial arts).
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: sourskittles772 on June 27, 2007, 03:58:41 pm Dont you guys get sick of all the comparing airsoft to nerf.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Deaddumpster on June 27, 2007, 04:13:27 pm It DOES get a little annoying when they say that NERF things are for children and airsoft is like, the greatest thing ever to happen. NERF things are just airsoft guns that (in a way, luckily) don't hurt as much. Plus, I could get a whole load of NERF guns for the price of a single airsoft gun.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: sourskittles772 on June 27, 2007, 04:48:53 pm No mean ro rain on your parade but I was refering to you.... dead dumpster goes and hides in his dumpster.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: General Cole on June 27, 2007, 05:47:53 pm You can't really compare them, but this is known-
Airsoft is expensive, Nerf isn't Airsoft doesn't require modding, Nerf Does (You have to be smurter) Thats is the only comparason(sp). Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: sourskittles772 on June 27, 2007, 06:43:54 pm But you always see in the threads people talking about pain and airsoft. Nerf being more kiddish. But Ive yet to see an airsoft gun for less than 50 bucks that hurts more than my maxshot... and it only goes like 70 feet.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Deaddumpster on June 27, 2007, 07:24:08 pm Same with my modded NF. My friend toppled in pain when I shot him with it, but it also hit him in the eye.
PS. SourS, that deaddumpster goes and hides in his dumpster thing made me a little angry. Mainly because I don't live in a dumpster . Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: General Cole on June 27, 2007, 09:15:21 pm That is because you can't buy the technology in a Airsoft gun for under 150. And they hurt alot more, with just a voltage upgrade.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: sourskittles772 on June 28, 2007, 08:42:31 am Oh, My friends that play airsoft didnt buy expensive guns. They would buy guns from dicks. Mostly like 40 dollars primarys and 30 dollar pistols. One time my friend bought a 100 dollar gun but still didnt have that technology
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: General Cole on June 28, 2007, 03:50:54 pm Define Dicks. And I don't mean cheap guns. I mean about the steel gear box, the rubber balling of the hop up device, and the sheer amount of exactness required. Trust me, I airsoft too.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: sourskittles772 on June 28, 2007, 07:18:08 pm do you guys use the hundred dollar guns. or the basic ones
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: General Cole on June 28, 2007, 10:17:10 pm I have one good one, and my others are cheapies made good by modding them. Back to the topic.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: sourskittles772 on June 29, 2007, 09:36:23 am Ok. One time me and my friends were having a basement war. Well we only had 3 people so it was 1v2. 2 lives for the 2 people and 4 lives for the one. And I remember being by myself and barely peeking my head out and then boom just getting shot in the head with my friends modded bbb. One time I popped up got shot in the forehead. Then being kinda out of out spinning and falling down the getting shot by a rebarreld ttg. It all happend so fast. Well I have tons of memories. I just remembered that now.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: General Cole on June 29, 2007, 11:52:05 pm I remember when my friend was using a magazine armor system and I pointed my LS at his chest at 20 feet and blew through the ~100 page magazine and welted him.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: sourskittles772 on June 30, 2007, 06:30:17 am Nice. So how far were you from geddon cole?
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Renegade on June 30, 2007, 11:20:30 am For the EE, just wrap some cpvc in duct tape and stick it in the clip. Works great with stock darts. I really like the grip and everything on the EE stock so i personally wouldn't hack it up.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: General Cole on June 30, 2007, 12:56:31 pm LISTEN TO THE MAN, or don't I don't care. I drove 8,000 miles for geddon.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Deaddumpster on June 30, 2007, 02:43:01 pm Ok, thanks Renegade, that helps because I don't know anything about the internals of an EE :azn:.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: General Cole on June 30, 2007, 07:39:54 pm There should be a thread on the Haven with the images you need.
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Deaddumpster on July 02, 2007, 09:12:39 pm Ok, but I still have to talk to my friend. I haven't seen him in a while.
Are there any stories anyone would like to share? Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Tragonan on November 16, 2007, 05:45:48 pm Well, my first indoor Nerf War is what got me into Nerf. I was using a crossfire, and my cousin's cousin (I'll call them all my cousins, we're all pretty close) and he was using the double shot. These kids are like, 10 (twins) and 9. My cousin's 12, so he took two kids, a twin and the younger one. We were shooting, and I was watching them inside their fort using a TV. The reflection was perfect, and I could see everything. One of the twins comes out with a DTG, and I spring up from my spot, jump from the couch at him and get a nice hit in the crotch from 3 darts out of a Tommy Mech and a Maverick. I fell and retreated back to my base, where I contemplated the goofy-ness of my failed attack. But I'll tell you, those little kids are crazy when nerfing. A force to be reckoned with, if you will. But the guns were all stock, and that annoyed me. I went home, picked up my firefly, and googled modding. I found Nerf Center, but couldn't find a review on my gun (it was in July, and NC ended in like, 2001) so I continued my search. I found NH, and was engulfed in the idea of modified nerf blasters. It was a failure, though, but I found my second gun, my hidden shot, and succesfully modified that one. It was a toughy, though.
Quite the lengthy necro, sorry. Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: Megamannt92 on November 16, 2007, 08:25:40 pm A lengthy necro is better than a one word necro!
Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: ShadowHunterAlpha on November 16, 2007, 08:57:03 pm I was also involved in a small indoor war. My basement has plenty of obstacles (couches, chairs, pool table, bubble hockey, coffe tables, etc.), so I started playing strategically. I would move from cover to cover while my friends were reloading, and combat-crawled so they couldn't see me over the tables. I flanks two of them, unloaded an MS clip into their backs, dropped the MS (it was a carpeted floor and a drop of about two feet, so nothing damaging), pulled out my modded LNL and got a shot off on the third guy, who was running back to check on his teammates.
The next round, we did dual-wields only. One had two NFs, the other two mavs. The third guy (the last one I shot in the above description) opted for the LNL I had and a CF. I got twin MSs, because I was alone on my team. Huge mistake on their part. I popped out of cover and onto a table and fired quick five-round bursts from each MS. I only got one, which disappointed me. However, I arced the guns and got one more from behind his table before getting shot. In the balls. With an LNL at point-blank. 1v3 is actually a fun way to play, even when most of your guns were stock at the time. Title: Re: War Stories of a Veteran Nerfer Post by: General Cole on November 19, 2007, 08:47:55 pm I got hit from 213ft (yeah I measured) away by a BBBB. And it was a hip shot too. |
