1  General Nerf / General Nerf Disscusion / Re: Iron Man N.R.F. 425. on: April 30, 2008, 06:06:56 pm
I saw one at Target, it just wasn't in either of the 2 Nerf shelves. Guinea, it's still made by Hasbro which owns NERF. So it doesn't matter.

Well you could still do it the way I did in the aforementioned link, just don't cut off the part above the turret as far as I did, get a longer barrel, and extend the cardboard more. Other than that, I'd say go with GC's advice. Good luck in any case.
3  General Nerf / Reviews/Articles / Re: Nerf Recon on: April 12, 2008, 09:20:31 am
Finally, someone who actually appreciates the Recon! Practically everyone, noob to webmaster, is trashing it on NH. The configuration is barely any different from the longshot, so an Angel breech seems very plausible. Also, despite the fact that you can't really replace the spring, you can re-enforce the stock and add another spring behind. Along with the spring compression trick and a sufficiently long barrel, I can see the Recon getting at least 60' flat, possibly up to 80'. You might think that's not very good seeing as an extremely well modded NF can get about that much, but the RC is clip fed for goodness sake! It makes up for its decreased ranges compared to the LS by being much lighter; I can easily carry it on a strap, my NF in a holster and a primary and still be quite mobile. Oh, and I modded my Recon with just an AR removal and spring compression mod and it gets about 7' less than my noobishly barrel modded/AR busted LS. However, it is exremely accurate no matter what dart I use (even my horrible CDTS's that don't even have weights), whereas the LS fires even the best darts in random loopy and swerving patterns.

BTW, a 1/2 inch drill bit fits in the barrel perfectly and it can take out the AR in less than a minute. Thanks Captain Slug!

Well, that's my rant. Expect to see a whole topic about this pop up on the Haven soon. I just really think the RC is being underestimated.

Okay my model's approved, It's supposed to be the Daedalus but they edited the name and description to be Battlecruiser. Here's a link; If you want to buy it click check price.

What the program or the model? If it's the program you want then go here , but if you want the model you'll have to wait for a bit, they haven't approved it to be in the gallery yet. I'll warn you though, the cost is $59 plus $8 shipping.

EDIT: Wait I can email you the file once you download the program. If you want to buy it fom there click "make it real" but don't click "Show it off" because I already have it pending approval.

Does anyone here have Lego DD or heard about it? It's easy to use and very addicting. I had it about a year ago and I did some random stuff but it was just taking up memory so I got rid of it. Well the other day at a party my friend suggested we make the X304 Daedalus-Class Battlecruiser (a starship from Stargate, now my favorite show ever) with it. The next day I downloaded it and spent about 5 hours total designing. This is the final product, christened the "Juggernaut" (hehe).

It's complete with railgun turrets, F-302 Fighters, and sensor & comm arrays. The clear blocks are to help it stay straight when displayed, and the blue pieces will be spraypainted black. Oh, I was scrolling through my Photobucket page when I copied those and here are 2 other random things I made for another website; nothing to do with Legos.

Beware, the FlarbieTM!

And A picture I drew of Will 043, a Spartan II:

7  General Nerf / General Nerf Disscusion / Re: The Future of Nerf? on: December 29, 2007, 05:10:46 pm
I really don't think Nerf is going to go out of the market. Maybe people drift over to paintball and airsoft, but the fact is those are older people and a staggering majority of Nerf's customer base are kids around 8-11 give or take a few years. Little kids like guns and parents like cheap. It's a simple fact. Why have there been about 5 NF releases? Becuase they're cheap and people buy them, and Hasbro's gonna milk that for as long as they can.

Hmmm...I'm gonna have to say Death Valley, cause it's in CA and CA is cool.

EDIT: I was just kidding, I voted for cake and my close second is cookies.
9  General Nerf / Experiments/Ideas / Re: Nerf P-90: the N-90 on: December 20, 2007, 12:34:34 pm
Well, I knew about how it chambers and fires the rounds and i tried to work that clip shape in the desogn, but it just wouldn't fit in any way. I decided on using just the magstrike clip style except sideways (that can be hady because theclip wont fall back in if you stop firing hlafway through). And yes, as I said SHA, the case will be very hard to make unless you have vast resources like Boltsniper or CS. I was just hoping somebody someday would see this and try to get it working  undecided. BTW, I found a cool new Role Playing site called the Menagerie at If you join tell an admin that the Juggernaut invited you.

Not to mention the fact that they designed it. They use it in Stargate Atlantis and SG-1 (I've heard) because, as one site said, the just scream Sci-Fi. Guinea, I just noticed your quote, and it would kind of be a compromise for Gore because it would be bad for the environment but we could power our fuel cell cars with the remains of the planet  wink.

Well, I won't have to start from scratch since I designed the insides to be exactly like the MS with some extra tubing, so I'll just raid one of those. The case will be the hardest part. Another problem...I don't have a magstrike. If I was able to do this soon I would have put it in the Mods section to be edited. Maybe I can get the stuff for christmas, but I'm nearing my parental Nerf gun limit and I want a Recon. Plus, the project would need large PVC and ABS plastic with CS-like skills. Ah well, maybe I'll finish it when I'm in college  tongue. Although, one of the more intrepid members might want to attempt it (hint hint).

12  General Nerf / Experiments/Ideas / Nerf P-90: the N-90 on: December 15, 2007, 01:13:35 pm
Well, I was watching Stargate Atlantis and I saw the weapons they were using and they looked pretty cool. I remembered the name from some game, so I image searched it. Now I'm hooked on the P-90, and I got the idea to merge one of my favorite guns with one of my favorite hobbies. The product is this: the N-90. It's pretty much the exact same thing as a magstrike except a bit more tubing, a shorter clip, and a different shell. That's one thing that gets me excited about it; it has the potential to be a homemeade once I get the materials (unfortunately, that might be a while). But for now, I'm happy with sharing the concept.

This is a drawing of the insides superimposed on a real picture of a P-90:

And my sketches. The big one was done at school so I didnt have a template, it was just to enlarge the official picture (on the bottom):

That's it. Questions? Comments? Suggestions?

I'd say come in with your best mod because those guys like you more if you start off with a good mod as your first post (unless it's like an unoriginal NF mod, then they wont just flame you, they'll drop a firebomb on you while throwing a running flamethrower that's on fire at you). For long posts, copy and paste into word for spellcheck, and make sure your posts aren't useless, like: thats cool man. good job. or: that guys an idiot. Other than the occasional nutjob, you'll be fine if you just don't do anything stupid.

14  General Nerf / General Off topic / Re: Yay for Books! on: November 28, 2007, 06:16:26 pm
Oh my god I can't believe I forgot Halo books! Don't think they are bad just because they're based off of a game! (I agree totally with Jwasko; MACs FTW!) The Star Wars books are pretty good, I only read one but it was cool.

Cole, the Ender quartet is better than Bean's in some ways but I still liked the Bean one better (despite what my friend and I call the "Petra part" when we have to express it somehow). I don't know, it's just kind of freaky and sad when Ender totally withdraws from the world in Children of the Mind.

EDIT: Okay I finished Children of the Mind and I think that might even rival Ender's game. I don't know maybe im just a sucker for happy endings.

I also agree with Jwasko that the Jade falcon series rocks, although unfortunately it has too much...mature stuff that I really wish some good books didnt have. An example of this is The Sixth Fleet: Tomcat (has nothing to do with F-14s somehow). Yeah read that one anyway it Rocks. (Fun: 8/10 Difficuly: 4/10)

Hi I'm Foam, don't worry about your grammar too much, Cole's kind of a Grammar Nazi (granted, hes not as bad as those on NH). Most of all have fun. Or something corny like that.
